Portable Ladders
Falls from portable ladders are a major source of serious injury. You should always be aware of unsafe ladders and the improper use of ladders to take proper precautions to prevent falling. Often, injuries from ladders are serious enough to require time off from work.
In order to minimize accidents involving ladders, OSHA created regulations to ensure safety in the workplace. OSHA Standards 1910.25 and 1910.26 outline specific requirements for the use of portable ladders. There are two basic types of portable ladders - self-supporting ladders and non-self-supporting ladders.
