Drum Movers and Tilters, Overhead Cranes

Drum Movers and Tilters

Drum movers and tilters are overhead handling systems that easily lift and tilt a heavy drum. In addition to reducing exertion on the worker's back from manual lifting and tilting, this equipment can reduce a worker's chance of accidental bodily contact with chemicals inside a drum.

Different handling systems and drum grippers are available for many situations. Make sure that the system or device is rated for the weight it will transport.

Overhead Cranes

Overhead cranes are devices that are suspended from the ceiling and used to lift and transport heavy items, such as sheet metal, pipes, and large tools. Overhead cranes can eliminate the need for manual lifting and carrying of heavy objects and for pushing heavy carts of material and equipment across floors.

Adaptors are available for attaching different items to the crane, such as drums, boxes, bags, and hooks. Make sure that the crane system or device is rated for the load weight. In addition, consider the crane's movement pattern before the crane is installed to make sure it fits into the work area. Crane control buttons should be ergonomically designed to reduce awkward hand positioning for the workers operating the cranes.
