Moving Welding Units

Moving welding units are welding units that have been made easier to transport by the addition of wheels, one or more attached handles, or another similar fixture. Such welding units can be moved without lifting, reducing muscle fatigue and the risk of back injury.

Moving welding units should allow the weight to be balanced, and handles should be easy to grip.

Large Hose Reels

Large hose reels are devices that provide a mechanical advantage in coiling long hoses. Workers can transport large hose reels with a forklift or crane, and the reels may be customized for special applications.

To maximize ergonomic benefit, keep reels well-maintained and easy to turn. Also, ensure that the hose reel system is rated appropriately for the load weight.

Synthetic Lines

Lines are devices that can be hooked to a load-carrying vehicle or to another pulling device, serving to further reduce lifting and pulling forces. Lines come in a lightweight synthetic material that is up to 75% lighter than steel lines and in some cases can be handled by just one worker.

Synthetic lines must be stored properly to reduce environmental deterioration. Ensure that the synthetic lines are rated for the load weight.
