Class 2 Lift Trucks
Class 2 lift trucks are similar to Class 1, but they are designed to be used in tighter spaces than the electric motor riders. Trucks in this class are also controlled by an on-board operator. With some trucks, such as order pickers, or "cherry pickers," the operator moves up and down with the lift. When using this type of lift, it is important that the operator is securely fastened with a safety belt while seated or moving. This class also contains "side loaders," which are designed to account for space constraints. As the name suggests, these are equipped with sideways forks so that the truck can be used in aisles too narrow to allow the truck to turn.
