Class 3 Lift Trucks
Class 3 trucks are commonly referred to as "walkies" because the operator does not ride on the truck as it moves. The operator can pull the truck along or walk behind the truck and steer. In some models, the operator mounts the truck while lifting a load, but in others the operator remains on the ground. Most Class 3 lift trucks are low lift trucks, which means they are designed to carry loads just a few inches off the ground. In some cases, however, the "walkie" has a mast and can reach much higher to move materials.
