Risk Identification
According to OHS regulations (Section 7), employers must assess their work sites to identify existing and potential hazards before work begins, and must eliminate or control the identified hazards. When examining a site, be sure to inspect the entire area (including equipment) for possible risks. For additional information and expertise, you may refer to a relevant safe workplace association. These organizations are partners of the OHS Safety System and work to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. For example, Ontario workers may turn to Health & Safety Ontario, which works to achieve zero work-related injuries, illnesses, or fatalities. Health & Safety Ontario is a combination of four smaller organizations that are tailored to different industries and their safety regulations.
