Safe Operating Procedures - Additional Equipment
Some tasks may require additional equipment to complete. For example, lifting personnel requires a platform and fall protection equipment. Always be sure to inspect equipment before use and check that it is properly placed and secured before beginning work.
Some companies may choose to modify their lift trucks, whether to increase load capacity, extend reach, or add an attachment. Any modification to a lift truck must be performed by a qualified professional and keep in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. If a truck is modified, updated specifications for load capacity, reach, and other specifications must be displayed on the truck in place of the original specifications. Remember to update the work site's written hazard report to accommodate the new equipment and its risks.
