Audit & Feedback
Employers must establish a continual auditing plan that provides current information on maintenance of application effectiveness. The employer must also ensure the audit is executed and all employees are in complete compliance with the program. Audits should be performed annually and records kept for a minimum of three years.
Knowledgeable personnel should conduct visual observations of authorized individuals performing specific hazardous energy control tasks. These observations should include feedback to the authorized individuals, documentation of the findings, as well as any recommended improvements.
Employers must also establish a system for providing both positive and negative feedback on its hazardous energy control program to supervisors and other appropriate employees. Where deficiencies are reported, corrective action(s) must be taken and the appropriate individuals informed of the required improvements.
