Individual Lockout
This is the most basic form of lockout. All individuals involved in job duties requiring lockout must be knowledgeable about the hazards associated with the machine, equipment, or process that must be isolated. Individuals should also be aware of the level of isolation required to safely perform each task. Before any work begins, authorized individuals are responsible for ensuring the required energy-isolating devices have been attached in the required position and locked with their personal lock; authorized individuals must also take steps to verify the isolation according to company procedure.
