Notification
After procedures have been clearly established, all affected employees must be notified of the impending work effort.
The individual authorized to complete the lockout/tagout must first notify affected employees of the following:
- What machine or system is going to be locked and tagged out
- Why the machine or system is undergoing lockout/tagout procedure
- Approximately how long the machine or system will be offline
- Who is responsible for enacting the lockout/tagout procedure
- If necessary, who to contact for further information
