Dumping
Dumping is the process of removing the rock overlaying the ore seam and transporting it to a dump. Depending on the mine site, the dump may be either several kilometers away or near to the excavation site. In the case that the dump site is far away, transport to the dump by trucks or conveyors is necessary. When dumping the rock, miners should keep the following safety tips in mind:
- Stay clear from trucks that are in the process of dumping.
- Always deflate the trailer air springs before raising the dump body.
- After dumping, remove small build-ups before they become large ones.
