Equipment Repair Guidelines
Repairs and maintenance of machinery or equipment must be performed only after the power is off and the machinery or equipment is blocked against hazardous motion. Equipment operators should follow these guidelines when maintaining or repairing equipment:
- Do not take vehicles containing explosive material and oxidizers into a repair garage or shop.
- Do not weld or cut on a bulk delivery vehicle until the vehicle has been washed down and all explosive material has been removed.
- Before welding or cutting on a hollow shaft, the shaft must be thoroughly cleaned inside and out and properly vented with a minimum half-inch diameter opening.
