Responsibilities - Overview
Every person at a mine site has a responsibility to ensure that health and safety standards are being observed at all times. The employer is responsible for providing training so that all miners are aware of their responsibilities while on the job. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all miners are properly trained and are compliant with MSHA regulations pertaining to miners' rights and responsibilities. And miners are responsible for observing all MSHA standards and practicing work habits that encourage responsibility and accountability.
As long as miners are actively participating in their mine's safety and health program and exercising their responsibilities, they can help mitigate workplace accidents, illnesses, and deaths.
