Transporting

Transporting is an important surface mining task and can include the removal of the overburden or the extraction of the minerals. Again, the type of extraction method used dictates how materials are transported. There are three main types of transportation methods in surface mines:

Truck haulage
Belt conveying
Coarse coal slurry transportation

The mine should have safe road design criteria to reduce the number of transportation accidents while simultaneously improving effectiveness.
