Crushers

Crushers are among the most potentially dangerous hazards at a surface mine. Consequently, there are many protective measures against the hazards they pose, such as guards, shutoff switches, and lock out/tag out systems. Complacency is the real risk. Cutting corners, disobeying posted signs, and losing focus can be deadly.

Also, supervisors must ensure that every operator has received enough initial and recurrent training. Monitor employees who are using unfamiliar equipment. Communicate with other personnel about your intentions. Double-check that no personnel are in danger of being struck or buried by ejected material.
