Emergency Procedures

Surface mine employees need to be ready in the event of an emergency. It is important to recognize an emergency, to know what the emergency procedures are, and to respond quickly.

Preventing emergencies is always preferable to responding after the fact. One way to prevent emergencies is to wear personal protective equipment.

If an emergency does happen, follow established procedures. These include:

Escape and emergency evacuation
Firewarning
Firefighting
First aid
