Firewarning
Firewarning is the process of announcing to mine staff that a fire is underway. There are many different systems, lights, bells, and alarms that can signal a fire. Every miner should recognize various firewarning signals in use at each site.
One way to learn these alerts is to conduct drills. This gives everyone the opportunity to practice responding to firewarning signals. Usually, firewarning signals indicate that miners should follow a specified evacuation plan.
All miners responsible for firefighting equipment must be able to recognize firewarning signals and organize the appropriate firefighting response.
