Aerial Lift Hazardous Atmosphere
Aerial boom lifts are capable of creating a spark that could ignite flammable vapors, fibers, or dusts that may be in the atmosphere. Aerial boom lifts should never be operated in locations that have the potential for an explosive or flammable atmosphere.
- To avoid creating a potential hazardous atmosphere:
- Use electric powered lifts in confined spaces
- Install carbon monoxide detectors
- Adhere to maintenance schedules to ensure efficient fuel combustion
- Clean up spills and leaks of fluids
- Know the symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure
