Aerial Lift Defective Lift
If an aerial boom lift is found to be defective or damaged during an inspection or routine use, then appropriate measures should be taken to tag the equipment and remove it from service. The safety issue must be immediately brought to the supervisor's attention. Measures to take an aerial lift out of use should include:
- Tag the device with a visible Out of Service notice
- Secure starter key away from any potential users
Once the problems have been corrected and the aerial boom lift has been restored to a safe condition, it can be returned to service.
