Aerial Lifts Retraining and Recordkeeping
Employees must be retrained whenever one or more of the following situations occur:
- Changes in the worksite present a hazard that was not previously known.
- Changes in the type of lift, fall protection, falling object protection, or other equipment present a hazard that was not previouslyknown.
- Inadequacies in an affected employee's work involving the lifts indicate that the employee has not retained the requisite proficiency.
Although not required, it is a good practice for employers to retrain their employees on a recurring basis, documented in their safety program. Training records should be maintained for at least four years.
