Safe Work Start-up and Shut-down Procedures

Use the following guidelines to ensure safe start-up and shut-down procedures

    Start-up
  1. Complete the pre-start inspection.
  2. Ensure that the vehicle is positioned on level ground.
  3. Set the parking brake.
  4. Chock the wheels.
  5. Engage the power supply.
  6. Set the outriggers. Place outrigger pads beneath the outriggers if you are working on soft ground.
  7. Ensure that the vehicle is stable before entering the bucket or platform and raising the boom.
    Shut-down
  1. Slowly lower the boom to rest on its supports.
  2. Secure the boom according to the operator's manual.
  3. Raise the outriggers.
  4. Shut off the power supply.
  5. Depress the parking brake.
  6. Remove the outrigger pads and wheel chocks.
  7. Remove the key.
