Aerial Lift Snow and Ice

Ice, snow, rain, or other slippery conditions can cause slips and falls from aerial boom lifts. Never work on a snowy or icy lift platform unless it has been cleared first.

The only reason a worker should be allowed on an icy or snowy lift platform is to clear the platform of the snow and ice. The lift should be in its down position, and the surface examined by a competent person for safe traction, before workers go up.
