Confined Space Arc Welding and Cutting

Arc welding uses a welding supply to create an electric arc between an electrode and the base materials to melt the metals at the welding point. Arc welding is widely used in confined spaces because of its low capital and running costs. The following are types of arc welding and cutting:

  • Stick welding
  • MIG
  • Flux cored
  • Submerged
  • Gas metal
  • Gas tungsten
  • Plasma arc
  • Tungsten inert

You must receive proper training from your employer before operating or handling any type of welding and cutting equipment within a confined space.
