Aviation - Passenger Aircraft
HAZMAT may be carried in a main deck cargo compartment of a passenger aircraft under the following provisions:
- The compartment is inaccessible to passengers.
- All certification requirements for a Class B aircraft cargo compartment in 14 CFR 25.857(b) have been met.
- All certification requirements for a Class C aircraft cargo compartment in 14 CFR 25.857(c) have been met.
A net weight of no more than 75 kg (165 pounds) of a Division 2.2 material can be carried on a passenger-carrying aircraft; the grand total must not exceed 100 kg (220 pounds). The requirements for quantity limitations for passenger-carrying aircraft found in 175.75(c) do not apply to Class 9, ORM-D-AIR, and Limited or Excepted Quantity material.
