IATA General Transport

For general transport requirements, the DGR states that no person may offer or accept dangerous goods for air transport unless the goods are properly:

  • Classified
  • Documented
  • Certified
  • Described
  • Packaged
  • Marked
  • Labeled
  • Readied for shipment in compliance with these Regulations

No person can transport dangerous goods by air unless those goods are properly accepted, handled, and transported according to the DGR.

If there is any conflict in the application of a required standard and the application of these regulations, the regulations take precedence.

If any package is opened during an inspection by customs or other authorities, it must be restored to proper shipping conditions by a qualified person so that it complies with these regulations.
