IATA Class 2 Mixtures and Hazard Precedence

When gases are mixed, they must undergo a test or calculation for flammability. See ISO Standard 10156:2010 for more information on the test and calculation methods. Similarly, the toxicity, corrosivity, and oxidizing ability of the mixture must be determined through a test or calculation.

The following order of precedence must be followed for mixtures of gases:

Division 2.3 takes precedence over all other divisions.
Division 2.1 takes precedence over Division 2.2.
