IATA Class 7 Special Form

Radioactive material means any material containing radionuclides where both the activity concentration and the total activity in the consignment exceed the values specified in Subsection 10.3.2. Activity is classified as either Special Form, designated as A1, or Other than Special Form, designated as A2. Table 10.3.A lists the A1and A2 values for common radionuclides.

Radioactive materials are grouped into six categories based on their form or characteristics. These categories include:

  • Special Form
  • Low Specific Activity (LSA)
  • Surface Contaminated Object (SCO)
  • Fissile
  • Low dispersible radioactive material
  • Other form
