IATA Class 7 Marking Fissile Packages
Packages containing fissile material must be marked according to the requirements of its packaging type. The identification mark should contain one of the following code types: "AF," "B(U)F," "B(M)F," "CF," or "IF."
If an overpack is used and not all of the required marks are visible, the overpack must be marked with the following:
- The word "OVERPACK"
- The UN number, proper shipping name, and full name and address of the shipper and consignee
- Any special handling instructions
- Excepted packages of radioactive material must be marked with the following:
- UN number
- Full name and address of the shipper and consignee
- Permissible gross weight if the gross weight of the package exceeds 50 kg
- The requirements of 10.7.1.3.8, if relevant
- If carbon dioxide is used as a refrigerant, additional markings are required
