IATA Class 7 Pre-Shipment Requirements
The following requirements must be fulfilled before shipment:
- For Type B(U), Type B(M), Type C, and fissile material packages, you must ensure the effectiveness of the shielding, containment system, and confinement system are within the limits specified for the approved design.
- If the design pressure of the containment system exceeds 35 kPa, it must be ensured that the system can maintain its integrity.
- Tests must be performed on packages containing fissile material to confirm compliance.
- You must ensure that the package does not contain radionuclides or contents in a form or state different from those specified for the package design.
- You must ensure that all requirements from the competent authorities and these Regulations have been met.
- All closures, valves, and other openings must be closed and secured.
- The shipper must have a copy of any instructions for the proper closing of the package and any other preparation for shipment.
- The shipper must have a copy of all approval certificates.
