IATA Using the List of Dangerous Goods - Column B
Proper Shipping Name/Description: This column contains the alphabetical listing of dangerous goods and articles by proper shipping name, followed by a qualifying description. The proper shipping name is displayed in bold text. The proper shipping name may be followed by a star symbol (★) if the technical or chemical group name is required, or by the dagger symbol (†) if additional information can be found in Appendix A. These symbols are not part of the proper shipping name.
The description is displayed in light type, as well as the following types of information:
- Other names by which the article or substance may be known
- Names of articles or substances which are forbidden by air transport under any circumstances
- Names of articles or substances that are subject to additional considerations
- Names of articles or substances that are considered not restricted
