IATA ICAO Regulations

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with more than 180 member nations. The ICAO creates and enforces international law for civil air transportation.

ICAO uses the recommendations set forth by SCoETDG and IAEA as a basis for developing the regulations for the safe transport of dangerous goods by any aircraft. The ICAO regulations are codified in Annex 18 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation and in its Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (Doc 9284-AN/905 as amended).
