Respiratory Protection Recordkeeping
Recordkeeping is essential in all worksites with hazardous working conditions. In the case of sites with environments that require respiratory protection, recordkeeping is even more crucial. You have learned about this throughout the course, but it is useful to take a look at one comprehensive list of recordkeeping for the worksites this course refers to.
At minimum, employers must keep records of the following:
- Identification of hazardous materials and/or low-oxygen environments (and the levels)
- Reasons for selecting the respiratory protection
- Respiratory protection manuals and guides from manufacturers
- Respirator checks, maintenance, and repairs
- Initial and ongoing employee training
- The Respiratory Protection Program
- Medical questionnaire content (either Appendix C or equivalent)
- Medical evaluation results (including follow-up reports)
- Monitoring methods and results
- Incident reports
