MSHA PART 48 New Miner Training
Important MSHA Training Requirement Notice: This course is designed to support topics commonly included in MSHA Part 48 training programs, but does not, by itself, fulfill all MSHA training requirements or result in an official Form 5000-23. Completion includes a certificate of completion. Final training documentation and Form 5000-23 records must be completed by the mine operator, under an approved training plan. Learn how MSHA compliance works.
CTO offers online training for Cal/OSHA, DOT HAZMAT, EEOC, EPA, HIPAA, IATA, IMDG, MSHA, OSHA, Canada OHS, and TDG. With engaging audio and video content, our courses ensure high retention and efficient learning. Upon completion, students can instantly print their certificates and wallet cards.
Underground mining is hazardous, placing workers at risk of fire, flood, toxic contaminants, collapse, and explosions. Mine safety and health legislation and advances in technology and training have reduced the number of mining injuries and deaths, but disasters still occur. Our online training courses ensure that workers understand mining hazards, their rights as a miner, and important safety considerations.
New miners and newly hired experienced miners must complete MSHA underground training prior to entering a mine site or being assigned duties. All employees must complete refresher courses annually. MSHA Part 48 training online gives mining employees the flexibility to complete training at their own pace.
We offer a selection of MSHA underground training online courses that can be used as part of your company's MSHA-compliant training plan. New and experienced miners can obtain online certification in numerous topics, including miners' rights and responsibilities, emergency procedures, first aid, hazards overview, electrical safety, powered haulage safety, personal protective equipment, and confined spaces. (see complete list below).
The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulates and inspects mine sites to ensure that anyone working at a mine is protected from accident, illness, injury, and death. MSHA Part 48 Training is required for all underground mines, surface coal mines, and some surface/non-metal mines.
